Sky Sports understands Bristol City are in talks to sign Irish starlet Christopher Forrester.
A number of English clubs have been keeping tabs on the highly-rated St Patrick's Athletic midfielder but Bristol City are hoping to steal a march on their rivals by luring him to Ashton Gate.
Forrester is regarded as one of the best young talents to emerge from Ireland in recent years and was named the League of Ireland PFAI Young Player of the Year in 2012.
The 20-year-old broke into the Republic of Ireland under 21 side at the start of this year and has been tipped to be called up to the senior squad in the future.
Forrester has been training with Bristol City for the last two weeks in the close season of the Airtricity League Premier Division.
The skilful winger is understood to have impressed during his training stint at the League One club and they have now opened talks with St Patrick's Athletic about a deal for Forrester.
