Coles impressed with Grimes

Exeter City captain Danny Coles has hailed the performances of Matt Grimes after the youngster's excellent start to the season.

The 18-year-old first-year professional has looked at home in the Grecians' midfield in his 10 appearances this season and seems to have cemented a spot in the side ahead of some experienced names. And his rise to prominence is no surprise to his skipper. "He's a class player, there are no two ways about it," he told Press Association Sport. "Day in day out he is a very good player and if he keeps his feet on the ground and keeps working hard then he has got a fantastic future in the game. "He is at a club where the manager wants to play football. You get a lot of kids who come through at teams and they are good footballers but the manager just wants to play one way, especially in the lower leagues. "The manager wanting to play football suits Grimsey down to the ground and you can tell he is getting stronger and stronger every game."
