Rookie striker Callum Ball has returned to Derby at the end of his two-month loan spell with League Two Torquay.
The 21-year-old made 11 appearances for the Gulls and scored two goals, both in the 4-2 win over Cheltenham last month. Torquay were initially keen on extending Ball's deal but now need the cash to strengthen their defence with fitness concerns over centre-backs Krystian Pearce and Aaron Downes. The Gulls said on their official website: "Everybody at United would like to thank Callum for his hard work at the club and we wish him the best for his future."
