Notts County boss Chris Kiwomya wants to add midfielders Mark Fotheringham and Dean Parrett to his squad.
Both players have been on trial at Meadow Lane this summer and have impressed the Magpies manager.
Fotheringham, who stood out in the recent friendly against Galatasaray, came through the ranks at Celtic before going on to play for Dundee.
The 29-year-old has also had spells in Germany and Switzerland with SC Frieburg and FC Aarau respectively and spent two years at Norwich. He returned to Scotland last season with Ross County.
Kiwomya knows Parrett from his time at Tottenham, who this summer released the 19-year-old.
"Mark is my kind of player - he's got a little bit of everything," Kiwomya told the Nottingham Post. "He's come on trial and he's been really good in training and he's done well in the pre-season games as well.
"I've known Dean from his Tottenham days and he's a good player. We're seeing if we can accommodate him in the squad somewhere.
"I've got to look at my budget and make sure we're not bringing in players just to fill gaps, but Dean's a good technical player, it's just whether he can fit into our play."
