Sky Sports understands Doncaster Rovers are in advanced talks with Tommy Spurr about a new deal at the Keepmoat Stadium.
Full-back Spurr's deal has expired at Doncaster and he is currently a free agent.
A number of clubs, including Blackburn, Reading, Derby, Ipswich and Birmingham have all been linked with Spurr, but Doncaster are doing all they can to try and keep the player
Doncaster boss Paul Dickov is keen to keep hold of Spurr and hopes to tie down the left-back to a new contract in the near future.
The 25-year-old defender joined the Keepmoat Stadium side in Jun 2011 in a £200,000 deal from Sheffield Wednesday and has gone on to make 65 league appearances.
