Kevin Prince Boateng has expressed his desire to stay at AC Milan, despite speculation linking him with a return to England.

The Ghana international joined the Italian giants from Portsmouth in 2010 after an unsuccessful spell in the Premier League which previously saw him make just ten starts in two years at Tottenham.

Since moving to Italy however, he has become an important part of Massimiliano Allegri's midfield and has expressed the ambition to become one of the world's best.

He told Sky Sports: "I am happy in Milan at the moment. There is a great building starting here and to be honest I want to be part of it."

Roberto Mancini is reportedly interested in taking the 26-year-old to Manchester City as a partner for Yaya Toure.

Stories have suggested that the Italian sees Boateng as a player who could help them win the title next season.

But the midfielder, who has played 32 games for the San Siro side this season, added that the decision may be taken out of his hands.

"Milan has their say in it as well so lets wait and see," he said.
