West Ham United goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen admits he is happy to extend his stay at Upton Park.
The Finland international, who joined the Hammers last summer from Bolton Wanderers, has triggered a one-year contract extension after meeting an appearance clause.
The 37-year-old is delighted to have won the new deal and is happy to have played his part in leading West Ham to the verge of survival in their first season back in the Premier League.
"When I first came I signed a contract that if we stay up I stay on, so there's no extension to sign," said Jaaskelainen.
"I'm happy because I don't really have to do anything about it apart from make sure we stay up.
"Big Sam was the reason why I wanted to come here.
"When he gave me the phone call, straightaway I thought it would be fantastic to play with him again."
