A host of clubs are tracking Walsall captain Andy Butler, Sky Sports understands.
Butler is out of contract at the Banks's Stadium at the end of the season and fresh terms have yet to be agreed.
The news has alerted several of Butler's suitors, with the defender regarded as one of the best players outside the top two divisions.
Butler has established himself as a key member of the Walsall side since arriving in November 2010, going on to be named captain and the club are determined to keep hold of him.
Talks are ongoing with Walsall about a new contract and the Saddlers hope they can fend off the interest in the former Huddersfield man.
