Sky Sports News understands that Preston have received more than 25 enquiries about their vacant manager's job.

This comes after Graham Westley stepped down from his role on Wednesday after just 13 months in charge.

Westley arrived at Deepdale from Stevenage and oversaw sweeping changes to the club, only goalkeeper Thorsten Stuckmann, defender Bailey Wright and winger Will Hayhurst remained from the original squad.

Tuesday's defeat to Yeovil was their third in a row and they have only won once in the league since November.

A number of names are being linked to the role including Garry Flitcroft, Gareth Ainsworth, Simon Grayson and Gary Bowyer.
