FIFA have granted Didier Drogba a licence to represent new side Galatasaray following claims from Shanghai Shenhua that he was still under contract in China.
The Ivory Coast striker sealed his move to Turkey last month but his former club then insisted that he was still contracted to them, despite Drogba's representative's claiming that he had the right to join another team because wage payments were absent.
The former Chelsea striker was greeted by thousands of fans when he arrived in Istanbul last week and he completed his medical on Monday, with FIFA confirming the move on Wednesday.
"The Single Judge of FIFA's Players' Status Committee has authorised Turkish FF to provisionally register Didier Drogba," a statement on FIFA Media's Twitter page read.
"The Drogba decision is without prejudice and pending outcome of decision as to the substance of the contractual dispute with former club."
