Sampdoria sports director Carlo Osti claims striker Mauro Icardi is going nowhere in January, despite attracting much interest with his prolific form.
The 20-year-old followed up his double in Sampdoria's 2-1 victory over champions Juventus with a four-goal haul in his side's 6-0 demolition of Pescara on Sunday.
And Osti knows that form like this will alert other clubs like Inter Milan, who have been linked, but reiterated Sampdoria's desire to keep hold of their youngster in this transfer window.
"We know that Mauro might have a prestigious future in front of him, but we want to keep him close," he told Radio Sportiva.
"The boy is followed by many clubs, but he has a contract with us until 2015, and we hope he will remain at Sampdoria a long time."
The Argentinian hitman's agent Abian Morano has also moved to quash any rumours linking him with a move away from the Stadio Luigi Ferraris.
"Mauro has a contract with Sampdoria until 2015. For this reason I don't want to talk about his future," he told tuttomercatoweb.com.
"His future is at Sampdoria. There has been no contact with other clubs, and none with the club either."
