Pablo Zabaleta believes he could be displaying his best ever form at Manchester City after helping the club reach the fifth round of the FA Cup.
The Argentinian has again been a consistent performer in City's back-line this season and even weighed in with a late goal in Saturday's 1-0 win at Stoke.
Injuries to fellow full-backs Micah Richards and Maicon have increased Zabaleta's workload, but the 28-year-old believes he has benefitted from playing alongside City's array of proven stars.
When asked if this is his best year since joining from Espanyol in 2008, he said: "Probably, I think it is one of the best seasons for me since I signed for Manchester City.
"I am always trying to improve myself on everything but also I have to say I am playing with great players around me. That makes every player better."
City were forced to dig deep at the Britannia Stadium and Zabaleta believes they were rewarded for a disciplined all-round display.
"I think it was well deserved for the team. I think we did a great game," he said.
"We knew it was going to be tough. It has always been a difficult pitch for us in the last few years.
"But I think we played a fantastic game. We were very solid at the back. We worked really well as a team.
"We created a lot of chances. I think it was the perfect game for us."
