St Johnstone have confirmed that Craig Beattie has been released following a frustrating spell at the SPL club.
The former Scotland international only linked up with the Saints last summer, having been cast into the free agent pool.
He was hoping to carry the form he displayed towards the end of the 2011/12 campaign at Hearts with him to McDiarmid Park.
But Beattie was restricted to just four substitute appearances during an injury-hit stint.
The 29-year-old is now on the lookout for a new club, with a recent trial spell at League One promotion hopefuls Notts County having come to nothing.
A statement released by St Johnstone read: "The contract between St Johnstone FC and Craig Beattie has been terminated by mutual consent.
"The club wishes Craig every future success."
