Blackpool defender Ian Evatt could miss the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery on a knee injury.
The Seasiders' centre-back, their longest-serving player, has been out of action since mid-November.
"He's been down to London to see one of the main specialists and he'll now be out for the forseeable future," caretaker manager Steve Thompson confirmed.
The 31-year-old has played 12 times for Blackpool this season but has not featured since the 1-1 draw at Bristol City on 17 November.
Evatt has been with the club since he made a loan deal from Queens Park Rangers permanent in the summer of 2007 and has made 258 appearances.
