Didier Drogba says he has not agreed a deal to join any club this winter and has told potential suitors they must contact Shanghai Shenhua.
Drogba has been linked with a move back to European football after reportedly failing to settle in China, with Italian giants Juventus and AC Milan rumoured to be leading the chase.
Speculation has suggested that he has the option to end his two-and-a-half-year deal early, but he is calm about the situation and says it will be down to Shanghai whether he leaves or not.
He told L'Equipe: "Whatever will happen I have a club. I have not signed anything anywhere.
"Even in China a contract is a FIFA contract, isn't it? It has no value? So far there are a lot of people talking.
"People have to talk to Shanghai first. Rules are rules."
