Sky Sports understands that New York Red Bulls have made an offer for Nigel Reo-Coker.
The 28-year-old is currently a free-agent after opting not to extend his stay at Ipswich Town, who he joined in a short-term deal after leaving Bolton this summer.
Now a host of clubs from around Europe are readying offers for Reo-Coker, but there is also interest from across the Atlantic.
Reo-Coker is married to an American and would consider a move to Major League Soccer - where a number of the sides have been alerted to the prospect of bringing in a player of his calibre.
It remains to be seen if New York, or any interested party, can lure Reo-Coker away from European football as it is understood talks have taken place with interested parties from France, Germany and Turkey.
