Sky Sports understands Birmingham and Coventry are tracking Kidderminster Harriers defender Lee Vaughan.
Vaughan has impressed for Kidderminster this season and his performances have alerted a number of Football League clubs.
The 26-year-old, who joined Kidderminster in the summer of 2010, has been instrumental in the club's fine form this season.
Birmingham and Coventry are both thought to be leading the chase for Vaughan after having watched him on several occasions this season.
Kidderminster are now bracing themselves for bids for Vaughan and they are loath to lose the player as they battle for promotion to League Two.
