St Johnstone boss Steve Lomas is still uncertain as to whether Liam Craig will prolong his association with the club.
The midfielder will see his current deal expire at the end of the season.
That means he is free to start discussing pre-contract agreements with interested parties.
Hibernian are among those said to be keen on acquiring Craig's services, the 26-year-old a proven Scottish Premier League performer.
St Johnstone are refusing to rule out the prospect of fresh terms being agreed, but Lomas concedes that he may have to bid farewell to an important member of his squad in the summer.
He said: "Liam has been a great servant to this club. He gives nothing but 100 per cent every week.
"But if he decides (to leave) we shake his hand and wish him all the best."
