St Mirren manager Danny Lennon says he is interested in taking Kenny Miller on loan and claims he has already held talks with the striker.
The 32-year-old Edinburgh-born player is currently contracted to Vancouver Whitecaps in the MLS, whose season recently ended.
Miller has also been linked to another SPL club, Hibernian, one of his former sides.
And Lennon told The Herald: "We've had initial contact with Kenny and we're now awaiting news on that one.
"I'm always interested in good players and proven goal-scorers and Kenny comes into that category.
"There's always an opportunity for the MLS guys to come over here in the winter and play but it's not always straightforward getting it done."
Miller could play for a couple of months ahead of the new MLS season which will start again in March.
During his long career, Miller has also played for Rangers, Celtic and Stenhousemuir in Scotland, along with Derby, Wolves and Cardiff south of the border.
