Brazil international Ronaldinho has extended his stay with Atletico Mineiro until the end of 2013.
The two-time world Player of the Year joined in June following a controversial stint with Flamengo.
The 32-year-old has scored nine goals in 31 matches with Atletico, insisting he is "going through a wonderful moment at the club".
The ex-AC Milan, Barcelona and Paris Saint Germain forward is hoping to play for Brazil in the 2013 Confederations Cup and feature in the 2014 World Cup on home soil.
"Since the day I arrived at this club I have been made to feel so welcome," he said. "I have a great relationship with everybody.
"The president, my team-mates, the coaching staff but most of all the fans, who have really won my affection. All of those factors convinced me to stay."
