Sky Sports understands that Preston North End have turned down an approach from Tranmere Rovers for David Amoo.
The 21-year-old was identified as a potential target for Rovers ahead of the closure of the loan window on Thursday.
A product of the Liverpool academy system, Amoo only linked up with Preston over the summer.
Tranmere were keen to offer him a hasty return to Merseyside, but have seen their efforts knocked back.
Amoo has only started a handful of League One fixtures for Preston this season, with the majority of his appearances coming from off the bench.
He is, however, considered to be an important part of the Lilywhites' set-up and Graham Westley has no intention of allowing the youngster to link up with a third tier rival.
