Carles Puyol has offered Barcelona a welcome fitness boost by returning to training after six weeks on the sidelines.
Puyol was put through his paces alongside his Camp Nou colleagues on Friday.
The centre-half is stepping up his efforts to earn a first team recall after shaking off an elbow injury.
The 34-year-old dislocated his left elbow during a UEFA Champions League clash with Benfica on 2nd October.
His absence has left Barcelona short in an important area of the field, with fellow defender Gerard Pique having also taken in a spell on the treatment table.
Tito Vilanova will be delighted to have players coming back into contention, with Pique having stepped off the bench during a shock European defeat to Celtic in midweek.
Puyol is also closing on a return to the starting XI, but is unlikely to be risked in a Primera Liga meeting with out-of-sorts Real Mallorca on Sunday.
