Scotland boss Craig Levein will have to wait until next week to discover his fate as talks continue over his future.
The Scottish Football Association (SFA) met on Friday to discuss Levein's position after a run of poor results left his side bottom of their World Cup qualifying group with just two points from four games.
Recent defeats in Wales and Belgium have all-but ended Scotland's chances of competing at the 2014 Finals in Brazil but the SFA's seven-man board is still considering the implications of sacking a man whose contract runs until summer 2014.
An announcement now looks likely to be made on Monday.
Levein spoke this week of his desire to continue in the post, saying: "I'm hugely proud to be Scotland manager and want to continue doing the job."
But the former Scotland defender has won just three of his 12 competitive matches in charge.
Scotland face Luxembourg in an away friendly on 14 November before their World Cup campaign resumes in March with games at home to Wales and away to Serbia.
