Hibernian manager Pat Fenlon is hoping deals can be agreed to keep loan trio Leigh Griffiths, Jorge Claros and Ryan McGivern beyond January.

Griffiths has scored nine goals in the SPL since returning to Hibs on loan from Wolves, while Manchester City's McGivern and Claros, on loan from Motagua in Honduras, are also tied to Easter Road until January.

Fenlon has been pleased with the players' contribution and is trying to put plans in place to ensure they stay at Hibs for the rest of the season.

"We want to keep all our better players," said Fenlon. "The three of them are up in January but we're working hard presently to make sure we keep them."

With leaders Celtic playing Dundee United on Sunday, Hibs, who have struggled in recent seasons, could go top of the SPL with victory over St Mirren on Saturday.

Fenlon said: "It's a good incentive for the players, to be able to go to the top of the table from where we've been. The players have to use it as motivation."
