Peterborough defender Tommy Rowe has undergone a second scan on an ankle injury.
The 24-year-old suffered the problem during their Championship defeat at Watford a few weeks ago but was expected to have recovered by now.
Manager Darren Ferguson is confident he will still return to action sooner rather than later but admits he is a doubt for Saturday's clash with Sheffield Wednesday.
"It was just a precautionary scan because we originally felt Tommy would be back in action by now, said Ferguson.
"It has been an irritating injury rather than a serious one.
"Tommy has not been ruled out [of the game at the weekend], but it is touch and go whether or not he will be ready."
