McGrath return boosts Rowett

Burton Albion manager Gary Rowett is delighted to have captain John McGrath back from his long-term foot injury.

The 32-year-old midfielder made his return to action for the club's reserves, completing 71 minutes of the match against Shrewsbury on Tuesday night. McGrath had been out of action since February after suffering a torn ligament in his foot during a league game against Swindon and could now be involved in the FA Cup tie at home against Altrincham at the weekend. "It will be brilliant to have him back," Rowett told the Burton Mail. "Everyone finds it difficult when they are out injured, but especially someone who lives for Saturdays, like Macca does. "But he has taken it on the chin and he has worked really hard."
