Patrice Evra: Manchester United full-back is ready for an important few weeks

Patrice Evra wants Manchester United to prove their Premier League title credentials in the coming weeks and believes an 'important time' is on the horizon.

United travel to Chelsea on Sunday and know victory over the current leaders would close the gap to one point ahead of the following weekend's game at home to Arsenal.

Evra believes United are starting to hit their stride and has challenged his team-mates to win every game over the next few weeks.

"This is a really important time of big moments and we need to show our best," Evra told the club's official website.

"I think we started to do that at Newcastle, but now we need to make sure we continue to do our job.

"It's going to be a busy few weeks with a lot of important games. Now's the time when we need to show what we can do and win every game."

Last season's title race was a battle between the two Manchester clubs, but Evra feels there will be more teams in the hunt this time around.

He added: "It is a difficult league. You can see that already this season. It's not only about United and City this season.

"Chelsea are top at the moment, Tottenham are doing well and there's also Arsenal. And I'm sure Liverpool will come back strongly before the end of the season.

"The Premier League is not an easy league - this is why everyone wants to play in this league."
