Pablo Hernandez hopes to push on after scoring his first Premier League goal and repay Swansea City for the faith that has been shown in him.

A club-record signing from Valencia on deadline day, Hernandez has been working hard to try and adapt to English football over the past few weeks.

He scored in Saturday's 2-1 victory over Wigan Athletic and says he is relishing the challenge of trying to show his best form.

"I'm loving the Premier League. After a few years playing in La Liga it's a different style of football with more tempo and passion in the stands," said the 27-year-old.

"But the fact Swansea bet on me and trust me as a player was the main reason for joining the club. In return, I will try to play my best football on the pitch.

"I'm delighted to score my first Swansea goal. It was only my second start of the season, but the goal helped the team win three important points.

"I hope this goal will help me for the following games to get more confidence and become a regular in the team.

"I'm still settling at the club, but I will work hard to keep my place."

The form of fellow wingers Wayne Routledge and Nathan Dyer means it will not be easy for Hernandez to establish himself as a regular, but Angel Rangel is backing his Spanish compatriot to continue making an impression.

"I knew Pablo would make an impact. He had an outstanding game," said Rangel.
