Burnley caretaker-manager Terry Pashley was delighted with the team's display in the 1-0 victory over Blackpool.
Charlie Austin netted the vital goal at Turf Moor to ensure Burnley will have the bragging rights over the Lancashire rivals, but keeper Lee Grant earned praise from Pashley as well.
"The performance was absolutely fabulous," said Pashley. "Blackpool put us under a lot of pressure in the second half and we had to weather a massive storm but I thought we defended fantastically well.
"Lee Grant has made a magnificent save and the players were willing to do all the things needed to get a clean sheet.
"They put their bodies on the line, we won our headers and we got our blocks in when we needed to, so to say I am pleased is a bit of an understatement.
"Charlie Austin took his goal well but he is a real team player and worked tirelessly for the team."
Meanwhile, Pashley insists he is not thinking too much about taking the post on a permanent basis.
"I have not had too much time to think about it as the week has gone so fast," he added. "It is not something I can control but I have really enjoyed this week and it was a relief to get the result."
