Reading striker Adam Le Fondre has signed a new three-year contract with the Premier League club.

The 25-year-old, who joined from Rotherham in a £300,000 deal in August last year, has scored 13 goals in 19 starts for the Royals.

The last of those goals came on the first day of the season and was Le Fondre's first in the Premier League.

He said: "I have always had the self-belief that I can play at the highest level and I really appreciate that Reading feel the same."

Reading manager Brian McDermott said: "He is a great lad, he works hard every day and he's a natural finisher. We are delighted he has made the decision to stay."

And the club's director of football Nick Hammond said: "It's fitting reward for his hard work and the progression he's made since signing from Rotherham."
