Aston Villa winger Charles N'Zogbia is determined to regain his place in the France national team.
The 26-year-old was left out of Les Bleus' squad for their games against Japan and Spain this month.
N'Zogbia understands that this is because he has not featured regularly for Villa this season and is confident that he will impress coach Didier Deschamps in due time.
"If you perform well for a club, then they see you and give you the chance to be there," he told Sky Sports News. "If you don't perform well, then you don't get picked.
"I am not saying if I am happy or not [at Aston Villa]. At the time I am fine and with the new manager [Paul Lambert], we just need time to get to know each other well and then we will see."
N'Zogbia endured a frustrating campaign last season under then manager Alex McLeish, but insists all that is now in the past.
"The manager and I did not get along and sometimes this happens," he said. "We don't have to like everybody in football.
"We are humans. We just have to move on and that's it."
