PSV Eindhoven star Jeremain Lens admits that he is looking to secure a move to a major league next summer.
The 24-year-old forward says that he feels he is a bit behind on his career path and so will be looking to make a big move by the end of the season.
Lens was the subject of a bid from Premier League side Southampton this summer, but PSV turned down their approach.
With three goals in eight games to his name this term, the Dutch international is looking to make up for lost time.
"Honestly I had expected to be further in my career right now," Lens told Algemeen Dagblad.
"But after a bad point and some injuries I had to adjust my expectations. I had in mind that I would have already played tournaments with the Dutch national team and played in a foreign league."
He admits that he is gearing towards moving next year, adding: "I play to make a transfer next summer. I will do everything for that this year.
"I prefer the English and German league as they perfectly fit with my kind of play."
