Reading midfielder Danny Guthrie has apologised for his Twitter outburst that revealed a disagreement with manager Brian McDermott.
Guthrie took to the social networking site to express his disappointment at being axed for last weekend's game against former club Newcastle at the Madejski Stadium.
"I am bitterly disappointed not to play," wrote Guthrie. "I am trying to fit into the direct style of play the manager wants.
"I pass too much at the moment, which is my biggest asset."
He added: "I understand what the manager wants but stopping habits like going and getting the ball from the back four is difficult."
But McDermott has revealed that the 25-year-old has since apologised for his comments.
Ahead of Saturday's trip to Swansea, McDermott said: "Danny apologises for putting that on Twitter. I want him to do the talking in games."
Guthrie joined the Royals from the Magpies on a free transfer in the summer in search of regular first-team football.
