Junior Hoilett is hoping Queens Park Rangers can lift some of the early pressure by claiming a first win of the Premier League season against West Ham United.

QPR have picked up just two points from their opening five games and that has already raised the prospect that another relegation scrap is on the cards this season.

Mark Hughes' side have undergone a summer of transformation and were unfortunate to lose at Tottenham Hotspur in their last league game.

Hoilett, who joined the Rs from Blackburn, is satisfied with the team's performances and is now looking for a win to kick-start the club's campaign.

"When you don't get your first win everyone is looking for it and talking about it," Hoilett said.

"We are playing well and not getting the results but that is not what we need.

"We need to get the results now. Once we get the win we can start building the belief in the squad.

"It will bring a lot of pressure off us so that's why I'm looking forward to Monday's game."

Hoilett owes a lot to West Ham manager Sam Allardyce for advancing his career during his time at Blackburn.

However, the Canadian insists he will not think twice about snatching three points off his former mentor on Monday night.

"He taught me a lot in my career," Hoilett said.

"I enjoyed playing under him and he is a great manager, but I'm looking forward to getting the three points off him on Monday."
