Tottenham Hotspur manager Andre Villas-Boas has reiterated it would be up to Tim Sherwood to decide whether he wants to become Blackburn Rovers boss.
Former Blackburn midfielder Sherwood is currently the favourite to take charge at Ewood Park after Steve Kean resigned from his position on Friday night.
Sherwood has been part of the coaching set up at Spurs since 2008, and is currently involved in the youth set up at White Hart Lane in his role as technical co-ordinator.
However, due to his status as skipper of Blackburn's 1995 Premier League-title winning team, Sherwood has a special place in the affections of the Ewood Park faithful.
Tottenham are known to be reluctant to lose Sherwood, who has just signed a new contract with the club, however, Villas-Boas knows an offer from Blackburn would be hard to turn down.
"I can't comment on the Blackburn situation because I have Steve Kean as a friend and I respect him," said Villas-Boas after Spurs' 3-2 win at Manchester United.
"But if Tim is a candidate, he has to make a personal decision and speak to the club."
