England manager Roy Hodgson insists the senior players in his squad still have the hunger to succeed ahead of the 2014 World Cup.
Hodgson will name his squad for the qualifying double-header against San Marino and Poland on Thursday, with senior players such as Steven Gerrard and Ashley Cole contenders to be included.
The manager insists the appetite for success in those players has not waned over their time with the national squad.
He said in The Sun: "The senior players like Steven Gerrard and Ashley Cole all enjoyed Euro 2012 as much as they enjoyed previous tournaments.
"They've retained their hunger and appetite for going to the next one.
"Let's hope we can get to the next tournament because then we will show the world we are an even better team than we showed in the last one."
