Andre Wisdom is ready to solve Liverpool's injury problems and take advantage of any first-team opportunities which come his way.

The versatile teenage defender marked his debut in style with a goal in last Thursday's Europa League win against Young Boys.

Wisdom is again likely to be involved when Liverpool visit West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday night in the Capital One Cup, when he will be keen to further impress manager Brendan Rodgers.

And with Daniel Agger and Martin Kelly now among his club's growing list of injured players, the 19-year-old hopes he could get more first-team chances.

"It's unfortunate that players have got injured, the likes of Martin Kelly - I wish him all the best," Wisdom told Liverpool's official website.

"But it's an opportunity for me to possibly get on the bench, the team or in the squad. If the opportunity comes, I'll try to take it and do my best for Liverpool.

"I'm in that stage where put me in goal and I'll try to save any shot. I'm just happy to play, especially for the reserves and the first team.

"Just to put on the Liverpool shirt and give my all is what any lad wants."
