AC Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani has dismissed reports of a blazing row between boss Massimiliano Allegri and youth team coach Filippo Inzaghi, saying the incident was 'exaggerated'.

Allegri is already under pressure this season after the club's worst start to a campaign in more than 80 years.

Tensions appear to have boiled over when Allegri went to visit the club's youth training camp this week.

He reportedly became involved in a row with former Milan striker Inzaghi, who retired this summer after the club failed to offer him a new contract, in front of the youth team players and their parents.

Reports from Italy suggest the tension between the pair goes back two years, with 39-year-old Inzaghi unhappy with the lack of first-team opportunities in recent seasons that effectively pushed him towards retirement.

In an effort to defuse the row Galliani revealed that he had spoken to the duo about the incident and insisted the matter was now closed.

"I have spoken to both Allegri and Inzaghi and they say it has been exaggerated. For me, it's a closed matter," Galliani said on Friday.
