West Ham have taken John Mensah, Anthony Vanden Borre and Mikael Silvestre on trial as Sam Allardyce considers adding to his squad.
All three players are available on free transfers and looking for new clubs.
Former Manchester United and Arsenal defender Silvestre is available on a free transfer after leaving Werder Bremen in the summer.
Vanden Borre has been without a club since his departure from Genk and Mensah has been linked with several clubs after exiting Lyon at the end of last season.
Allardyce is thought to be keen to bolster his defensive options and is casting an eye over the trio before deciding whether or not to pursue his interest in them.
"They have been training with us but there is no decision on whether we will be pursuing their services or not at this moment in time," said Allardyce.
