Nottingham Forest are waiting to learn the extent of Simon Cox's foot injury after the Republic of Ireland international was sent for a scan.
Cox suffered the injury during the latter stages of Ireland's 4-1 win over Oman at Craven Cottage on Tuesday night after coming on as a substitute in the second half.
He was carried off on a stretcher following a heavy challenge and Forest have confirmed the 25-year-old has been sent for scans to determine the severity of the injury.
However, Cox appears to be optimistic that the injury will not be too serious after confirming his foot has not been broken.
"I should know the results tomorrow but I know it's not broken which is a good sign," he wrote on Twitter.
Cox moved to the City Ground in the summer from West Brom and the 25-year-old has scored twice in five appearances for Sean O'Driscoll's side.
