West Bromwich Albion defender Jonas Olsson has advised his Swedish compatriot Markus Rosenberg to take his chance when it comes.
Rosenberg joined the Baggies last month and has yet to make a start in the Premier League this season.
The 29-year-old has to compete with Shane Long and four other strikers at West Brom, and Olsson says that his fellow countryman needs to make most of what opportunities he gets at The Hawthorns.
"Markus' first task will be to get in the team, which isn't easy," Olsson told the Birmingham Mail.
"I really feel that this year we have a great depth in the squad. You look at the bench and there are a lot of really good players on there.
"That is so important, because we all know it's a long season in England.
"Everybody will get their chance at some time and, when that chance comes, you have to take it."
However, Olsson is confident that Rosenberg will prove himself at West Brom.
"The new guys have already done well," said the 29-year-old
"For me, it was nice that Markus joined us because he is already a good friend.
"I know him from the Swedish team, he's a really good player, he will bring a lot of good things to the team going forward, and the fans will enjoy watching him."
West Brom are away at Fulham in their next Premier League match on Saturday.
