Spain international Adrian is confident Atletico Madrid can fulfil their potential and build on a bright start to the 2012/13 campaign.
The Spanish giants missed out on qualification for the UEFA Champions League last season, but have opened in a manner which suggests they will be among the Primera Liga frontrunners this time around.
Their last two fixtures have seen them hammer Athletic Bilbao 4-0 in the league and thump reigning European champions Chelsea 4-1 in the UEFA Super Cup.
Adrian believes those results are a sign of things to come, with the 24-year-old striker confident that he is at a club that can match his own personal ambition.
"I'm very happy here," he told ABC.es.
"I have a few years left at Atletico Madrid. It's very important to continue to work every day and be excited at every practice and every game."
On the Super Cup triumph over Chelsea, which served to highlight Atletico's attacking strength, Adrian added: "The truth is that the whole team did really well against Chelsea, but now the important thing is that people rest and come back with their batteries recharged.
"You have to go little by little, as we have always done.
"Real Madrid and Barcelona have been at a high level, but we have to look at that, our team, and make this the best year possible, and above all, to treat every game as the same."
