Manchester United youngster Joshua King admits he may have to leave Old Trafford in order to get regular playing time.

The 20-year-old Norwegian has made just one senior appearance for the Red Devils, having spent time on loan at Preston North End, Borussia Monchengladbach and Hull City in recent seasons.

The striker appreciates breaking into Sir Alex Ferguson's star-studded first-team is a tough task and has given himself until Christmas to get more game time or he will target a move elsewhere.

King, who joined United's academy in 2008, says he would prefer to find a new club in England if he does decide to leave.

But the youngster, who has represented Norway through the ages up to Under-21 level, insists if he did return to his homeland, reigning league champions Molde FK would be his only possible destination.

"I have set Christmas as a deadline." King told VG. "If I haven't got more playing time by then, I will consider moving to another club.

"Considering the players United have, it is not easy to get into the starting 11.

"I would prefer to stay in England, but in case I do return to Norway, Molde is the only option."
