Sammy Clingan has been added to the Northern Ireland squad for the World Cup qualifying double header against Russia and Luxembourg.
The midfielder is currently without a club having left Coventry at the end of last season and was not included in Michael O'Neill's 23-man squad for the matches as a result.
But O'Neill has been forced into a change of heart after seeing his original squad hit hard by injury.
With winger Paddy McCourt (groin) dropping out of both games and Martin Paterson (hamstring) and Shane Ferguson (groin) missing the Russia clash in Moscow on Friday, Clingan has been called up as cover.
Northern Ireland were drawn in Group F and will also face Portugal, Israel and Azerbaijan as they look to qualify for the 2014 finals in Brazil.
