Hearts manager John McGlynn admitted he would be keen to sign free agent Rudi Skacel after watching his team go down 1-0 to Dundee.

The Jambos dominated the match but could not find a way past Dundee keeper Rab Douglas, with John Sutton missing a penalty.

The result ensures Hearts have scored just five goals in their opening five SPL games and it is an issue that McGlynn is keen to address.

Skacel's contract at Tynecastle expired at the end of last season and McGlynn would be happy to welcome the veteran Czech Republic attacker back to the club.

"If anyone is asking themselves the same question, with 18 goals in the SPL last season, why does Rudi Skacel not have a team? I don't know the answer," he said.

"I'm sure there are other teams than Hearts interested in him. Why is no one taking a chance on someone who's scored 18 SPL goals?

"We'd certainly have liked to bring in another striker, but with some players still free agents there still could be scope for that to happen."
