Sky Sports understands Aston Villa have agreed a deal for Chesterfield's highly-rated forward Jordan Bowery.
The 21-year-old striker is a product of the Spireites' academy system and has been part of their senior set-up since 2008/09.
He has made steady progress in the last four seasons, making more appearances with each passing year.
Bowery figured for Chesterfield on over 40 occasions last season, netting 12 times in all competitions.
Villa believe he is capable of taking the step up from League Two to the top flight and have offered him an opportunity to grace the biggest stage in English football.
Paul Lambert has moved to bolster his attacking ranks after seeing Villa open their Premier League campaign with back-to-back defeats.
