AC Milan have been dealt a further injury blow with the news that Robinho will be sidelined for a month with a thigh injury.
Robinho was likely to be earmarked for a key role this season following the exits of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Antonio Cassano this summer.
But the 28-year-old has joined fellow Brazilian forward Alexandre Pato on the injury list at the San Siro.
A statement on Milan's official website revealed that Robinho has suffered a "first degree strain to the right thigh during Sunday's Milan-Sampdoria match."
It added: "The recovery time is expected to be three to four weeks, save for complications."
Robinho has scored 20 Serie A goals for the Rossoneri since signing from Manchester City in 2010.
