Goalkeeper reportedly set to sign three-year contract

Queens Park Rangers have moved closer to signing Julio Cesar after the Inter Milan goalkeeper arrived at Loftus Road for talks, Sky Sports sources understand. Mark Hughes wants another shot-stopper before Friday's transfer deadline to add competition for places for Rob Green after his unconvincing start to the new season. Cesar has since emerged as QPR's top target and agent Kia Joorabchian has been working as an intermediary in the negotiations of a reported three-year contract. The five-time Serie A-winning goalkeeper was not in Inter's squad for Sunday's 3-0 win over Pescara and is now in England to hold further talks with QPR. Cesar has been forced out of the reckoning at Inter after the arrival of Samir Handanovic from Udinese in July. The 32-year-old was as a result linked with Roma and QPR's Premier League rivals, Tottenham Hotspur, earlier in the summer. But 2010 UEFA Champions League winner Cesar now looks set to agree terms at Loftus Road, where he will add a wealth of experience following a trophy-laden career to date.
