Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Hughes is ready to look at other options after deals for defensive duo Michael Dawson and Ricardo Carvalho stalled.

Hughes had agreed a fee with Tottenham for Dawson earlier in the week, but the centre-half has yet to agree personal terms over a switch to Loftus Road.

A season-long loan deal for Real Madrid stopper Carvalho had also been lined up, but there have been no developments regarding that potential transfer.

QPR have already enjoyed a busy summer in the transfer market and Hughes is not ruling out further additions before Friday's deadline.

"We will have a look at other options," said Hughes after Saturday's 1-1 draw at Norwich City.

"There might be something which makes sense from our point of view, from a playing situation and a financial one, so we will have to wait and see."
