Thursday date set for Russell and O'Donnell appeals

Johnny Russell and Stephen O'Donnell will have their Dundee derby red card appeals heard on Thursday. The Scottish Football Association confirmed it has received appeals from both clubs and a fast-track tribunal is to be convened. Dundee United forward Russell was sent off after tangling with O'Donnell following a tackle by the midfielder during the home side's 3-0 win at Tannadice on Sunday. Both sides had confirmed on Monday they were appealing the red cards and they will now know whether they have been successful before the end of the week. The clash between Russell and Dundee captain O'Donnell had sparked a melee between the sides before they were then forced to play the remaining 20 minutes with 10 men each.
